Senior Account Manager – Domestic and International Data Destruction / Data Center Sales

We enable our customers to get projects done.  Starting with data destruction and augmented by deinstallation and whiteglove+ services (elevation diagrams, inventory, de-cable, smart hands, repair, etc.) we have proven to be a valuable extension to OEM, ITAD, systems integration, and third party maintenance companies.  We fearlessly take on domestic and international projects with secure data destruction, and de-installation services, allowing our clients to continue with their ITAD services to maximize recycling and reuse value from their equipment.

Destroy Drive is seeking a Senior Account Manager to join our team.


Experience:

  • Senior Account Manager – Minimum or 5 to 10 years of selling ITAD / Data Destruction services. Candidates will have extensive experience and comprehension of the ITAD industry.  A strong understanding of the competitive landscape.  This is a services solution selling position, not an equipment flip opportunity.  We offer solutions, programs and relationships with our clients that generate long term cashflows.  
  • Computer hardware – While we sell services, experience and understanding computer hardware trends is important; moderate understanding of/familiarity with different generations of data center assets and end user computing is helpful.  While we are not in the hardware resale business, the ideal candidate will have had background and exposure in the asset remarketing side of ITAD.
  • Logistics & Transportation  – Our services, while data destruction focused, also involves onsite services including materials, labor and transportation.  Experience, understanding and appreciation of what it takes to get onsite, wipe/destroy and de-install is essential.  You don’t have to do the onsite work, but you need to know what it takes to get the job done.

  • Prospecting skills – Creativity, persistence and strength to make warm and cold calls to uncover business opportunities.  Leverage internal marketing department and BDR/appointment-setters, tradeshows, associations and your existing network to capitalize on leads
  • Networking skills – Ability to take one relationship and obtain new ones
  • TradeShows & Speaking – Ability to work periodic tradeshows and experience speaking in front of both small & large audiences
  • Customer service orientation – Ability to manage customer expectations and handle shifting customer priorities; occasionally required to work off-hours in order to meet customer needs
  • Good organizational skills – Ability to manage concurrent projects and stay well-organized
  • Responsible – Ability to be self-motivated and work independently
  • Teamwork – You are the gateway to the customer and you will have marketing, project management and engineering resources to support the win.  You lead the account team to get the projects to the finish line.
  • Process orientation – General understanding of overall business operations; looks at how to improve upon existing processes; finds a better way to do things

Package: 

Base + 20% of GP – Target: Year 1 – $150K-175k


Expectations:

Initial 3 month ramp-up – get some “singles and doubles” to prove you have what it takes and the home runs can come later. Travel is necessary – up to 10-30% of the time.
